It's Holiday time! ...in January...

I've been meaning to share my Christmas cards for a few weeks now...but since they didn't even go out til after Christmas (nothing unusual for me) & January always seems to overwhelm me, I'm just now getting around to it. Hope you still enjoy seeing them & maybe they'll give you ideas for other cards or your Christmas cards for next year.  It's never too early to start those...so you're not rushing at the last minute like I always seem to be. (Every year I say I'm going to start early...who's in? Let's motivate each other!)

Either way...here they are! Enjoy & let me know if you have any questions!

Friends with Flair AND a Unity {be inspired} Challenge Entry!

Since my crafting time is pretty slim these days with 2 little ones running around, I try to make the most of the little time I do get. This week I managed to make 2 cards...using the colors for Unity's {be inspired} Challenge!  I'm only going to share one for now...actually the 2nd one I made...because it's my personal favorite of the 2! (I'm going to save the other one until next week or a day that I just need to post something but haven't had time to make anything new!...Cheating, maybe...but hopefully it will keep you in suspense while you wait for the reveal!?!)

I used Unity's A Faceless Beauty Stamp...along with the Stampin' Up! items listed below...as well as some retired SU shimmer paint, glimmer brads & ribbon...a Tim Holtz Embossing Folder and a  Memory Box Stencil. (If you need details on these items, let me know & I will get names for you...)
As always, thank you for stopping by! Leave a little note if you don't mind...just to let me know that you were here!
Have a crafty weekend!

A Fall Friday

It's Friday again! This week has been a bit different for me...some unforeseen events kept me from blogging on Wed like I had planned...& it's always weird having hubby home on a weekday... he throws my whole routine off! (In a good way, I assure you!)

But I did manage to get a little crafting time in! & made this awesome Fall Card for Friends with Flair this week! I hope you enjoy this card using Unity's Thanks & Giving set!
I decided to do a fun fold with this card...here is a little closer look.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
As usual, I used high quality inks & cardstock from Stampin' Up! The Hardwood Background is also from Stampin' Up! Here is the supply list...minus the Unity Stamp & the retired ribbon:

As always, I thank each & every one of you for stopping by to take a look!

Go forth & have a crafty weekend!

Wednesday...late night!

Well, I made this yesterday...& was originally going to save it for Friends with Flair on Friday over at Unity's blog. However, I have been staring at these colors on my workspace since the Unity {be inspired} Challenge was announced back on Sept 11th...and since these colors were on my table & worked soo well for this project, I wanted to enter that Challenge too! It wasn't until just a few minutes ago that I was reminded that the Unity {be inspired} Challenge submission ends TONIGHT! So here I am...posting this tonight so that I can link to the Challenge!

This is a 6x6 piece designed to be framed.
Here is a close up of the spider button & an angle that I thought showed a bit of the dimension of this piece.
Here it is in the only 6x6 frame I have...I don't like it much in there as it loses a lot of the detail due to the plastic cover instead of glass. If I can't find a frame that I like for this piece, I will simply mount it on chipboard & make an easel for it!

For those of you that are not familiar with this Challenge, you can choose your inspiration from the COLORS or the SKETCH...or you can do BOTH! Obviously, I decided to go with the COLORS for my project! I hope you enjoyed it...

Here's another little bonus project...while I had Esmerelda out, I thought she needed some glitter too!

Thanks for stopping by! Come back & visit often...leave some love when you do! ;)
(I'm gonna be sad when Halloween passes...it really is my favorite theme to work on!)

Have a crafty week!!

FWF...again!

Just a quick Friends with Flair again this week! I have sooooooo many awesome Unity stamps, but just not enough time to create everything I want with them yet. So here is another quick project that I managed to just throw together this evening...just in time to get it posted. (One of these days I WILL get ahead of myself & have projects done before I want to get them posted to my blog...probably once my kids are a bit older!?!)

Seems everyone is doing Fall stuff right now...but honestly, it's too HOT here in FL to think about Fall yet...although I LOVE Halloween, I needed a break from that too.

Hope you enjoy my Summer card!?!

I used Stampin' Up! Cardstock & Ink, along with Momento Ink & Perfect Pearls Mist in Perfect Pearl...Memory Box Designer Stencil - Texture Shine...& of course, Unity Stamps - SMAK Kit: Summer Lovin' from July 2013.

Have a great weekend! We have lots of plans...how about you?!?

It's Friday Again...

...& that means it's time for Unity's Friends with Flair!

Today I am sharing a card that I made LATE last night! (& when I say LATE...I mean I went to bed 10 minutes before hubby's alarm went off at 3:30 a.m.)
It's really a super-simple card...Here are the steps:
-Stamped this adorable Owl on some Soft Sky Stampin' Up! Cardstock
-colored it with some basic Crayola Colored Pencils
-brushed it with my Aqua Painters just to see what it did...& while it's not super obvious, I loved watching the colors pop when they got wet...
-used my Aqua Painters to make the paper tear a bit softer than a dry-tear
-put a little Tombow Multipurpose liquid glue around the edge & dipped the edges in Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter
-added some Crystal Effects over the eyes & the heart for dimension (you can see this in the next photo)
-found an old piece of patterned paper in my stash that I liked with the colors that I chose to color with...which were selected randomly...and that is crazy for me, but I love how it turned out none the less!
-stamped the sentiment directly on the patterned paper
-mounted everything on a piece of Night of Navy Cardstock (owl piece is on Stampin' Dimensionals)
Here is a close-up before the Crystal Effects.

I had also spent a bit of time on the Unity Blog Hop before I threw this card together...& I was being inspired to try new things & mixed media too! Before I did the card, this little owl actually inspired me to try to stamp on a tumbled marble tile that I 'had to have' & hadn't tried yet.

I sorted through the box & found one of the tiles had a rust spot/stain. I sanded it a bit to get rid of the bright orange & decided that it was a good tile to try my first stamping on...

I stamped this little guy & sentiment in Momento Ink, colored the heart with some pastels & brushed the whole thing with some Crystal Effects.

Keep in mind I have never done anything like this...so I had no clue what products to use! (I think I need to do some research & try some other things though... Any suggestions or experiences are welcome to be shared with me if you want to help me!)

But...for my first attempt, I am very happy with him!!!
I'm gonna get some felt or rubber feet for the back of the tile & he will the new coaster for my studio!

I'm sure I will enjoy my Pepsi even more when I pick it up & see this guy smiling at me!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope everyone has a great weekend!
~Cybil

P.S. If you would like to purchase any of the Stampin' Up! products I used...or any others too...please use Hostess Code MQT9KAHY to save on shipping, be entered into a drawing for some free goodies & get a hand-stamped card directly from ME!

Friends with Flair Friday!

Just wanted to share a card I made today for Unity's Friends with Flair! My latest order arrive yesterday & I just couldn't want to get this girl on paper!

(My phone photos always look better until I see them on the computer. Maybe I'll have to set this up & use the 'good' camera when I get a chance...) :(
Here's a close up...I spritzed all but the piece I stamped & colored with some shimmer mist...don't ask me what color though...it's been diluted with rubbing alcohol soo many times now, I'm surprised it still shimmers! LOL

If you would like details on any of the supplies I used, please don't hesitate to ask me!

Thank you for stopping by & having a look! Leave a comment if you're feeling chatty or have something to say...I'd love to hear from you!

Have a crafty weekend!

A Quick Friends with Flair!

Just a quick card I wanted to share this week...I do like to keep my stamping pretty simple usually & this design is one of my favorites! It's kind of my 'fall back' design when I need a card & can't think of what to do...but I stepped this one up a bit with extra layers, inking and ribbon too!

I used Unity Stamps set called ...wish with your heart, along with my favorite cardstock...Stampin' Up!, of course! If you have any questions about the techniques used, please ask!

I hope you enjoy!  Thanks for stopping by & taking a look!!

It's Friday! Once again I decided to play along with all the creative people over on the Unity Stamp Company blog!

Here is the card I made today...along with a close-up!  The butterfly came in my grab bag of goodies that I won for last week's Friends with Flair!  The greeting is enjoy. explore. believe.

I also included a quick & simple card I made the other day using Unity's {just a little...clicky} background stamp & a greeting from {insta-live, love, dream}.
I hope you're enjoying my creations as much as I am enjoying making them! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Something Different: Friends with Flair

Just wanted to try something a little different today & decided to jump into Friends with Flair over at the Unity blog.

I'm still on my phone instead of the computer... which makes posting a bit of a challenge but I really wanted to share so... you gotta do what you gotta do, right!?!

I used a stamp set I just got from Unity Stamps, along with Stampin' Up!'s amazing cardstock & Blendabilities...if you have questions about any of the products I used, just ask!

Still no computer...really...

Have you ever tried to do any work on a computer set to factory settings with no programs installed or software updated? I can tell you it's no picnic! Every time I try to do the simplest thing it wants to install an update or do something else that keeps me from doing what I need to do. I haven't had time to sit & deal with that yet.
While I can write short posts on my phone, I'm never sure what to say. (The stuff I want to share involves more time to write & sharing things that I just can't access from my phone.) I'm still working on getting my computer back up & running...although I haven't had much time for that this week. I'm participating in 3 swaps using products from the upcoming Holiday Catalog & they are scheduled to go in the mail tomorrow...which means when I'm no longer stuck on the couch nursing my son, I'll be spending every free minute I can find today trying to get them done! I can't wait to share them with you once I can. (In the meantime I will try to share the cards I got back from the last swap I participated in... but not until I get these in the mail!)

I hope you are all having a great weekend! It's been a flurry of activity here...with some new experiences too! I love weekends!

Have a crafty week...time to get started on Halloween stuff soon too!

Technical difficulties...

Due to many technical issues, I had to reset my computer to factory settings. Of course, this couldn't go as easy as I would have liked...& it's taking way longer to get everything back to some sort of normal. (When I say 'normal', I really mean 'useable'...) So... while I work on getting things to a point where I can actually use the computer & get back to posting, I will try to update you from my phone when I can.

I hope everyone had a great weekend & that you're going to make this week AWESOME!

Adventure...

Spencer got to go to the Magic Kingdom for the 1st time last Wednesday!
We watched the Festival of Fantasy Parade, took a few pics & headed back home.  It was extremely HOT for me & the kids...which makes it difficult to tolerate some of the more aggressive guests in the parks.  We had a good time though...even if we didn't stay long!

It was a trip I am proud of...since I usually just opt to stay home with the kids.
Here are a few quick pages I made using MDS to show our adventure...

I hope you enjoyed these super-simple pages!  I love MDS for this reason...no complicated scrapbooking necessary & I can just print them out when I'm ready to put them in a book!

Have a great rest of this Monday & I will see you all again later this week!

Please show some love...today is Saffron's 2nd Birthday!
